Reader’s Knowledge
Who knows the truth at this moment?
A planned way to inspect story facts, character beliefs and reader disclosures, with evidence connected to the manuscript.
Planned
Separate truth from belief.
Mara may believe Elias lost the key while the reader has seen him hide it. Those are different states, and both belong in the story. The proposed view keeps them distinct.
Follow the order of discovery.
Track revelations across scene order and story time, including flashbacks and unreliable narration. Mark intentional ambiguity rather than treating every discrepancy as an error.
Return to the passage.
Findings should cite supporting text, distinguish inference from confirmed information and let the writer correct the interpretation.
