Privacy policy
Your work belongs to you. The policy should make that unmistakable.
Effective July 24, 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how Totalsquare, LLC collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects information through NarrativeForge.ai, the NarrativeForge macOS application, early-access programs, and related support services.

Who we are
NarrativeForge is published by Totalsquare, LLC.
Totalsquare, LLC, located at 800 W 5th, Austin, Texas 78703, United States, is responsible for the NarrativeForge website and application covered by this policy. Privacy questions and requests may be sent to support@narrativeforge.ai.
Scope
This policy covers the website, application, beta programs, and support.
It applies when you browse NarrativeForge.ai, join a waitlist, contact support, participate in a beta, or use NarrativeForge features that process information. It does not govern third-party products, writing tools, stores, or services that have their own privacy practices.
Information you provide
We collect information you choose to give us.
This may include your email address, professional role, writing tools, platform preference, use case, support messages, feedback, and any files or excerpts you intentionally send to support. If accounts or team features are introduced, we may also collect account and organization information needed to provide them.
- Waitlist and contact-form details
- Support communications and troubleshooting information
- Beta feedback and feature preferences
- Account or organization details if account features are offered
Creative content
Manuscripts, scripts, recordings, voices, and generated audio receive special treatment.
NarrativeForge is designed so core project work can remain on your Mac wherever technically possible. Local files, project databases, imported manuscripts, voice references, generated audio, pronunciations, casting decisions, and director notes are not collected by Totalsquare, LLC merely because you use the application. If you deliberately use an optional online feature, submit material to support, synchronize a project, or enable a provider-backed service, the selected information may be transmitted only as needed to perform that requested function and subject to the disclosure shown at that boundary.
Voice information
Voice references are processed for the creative function you request.
Voice recordings, imported audio or video, derived voice profiles, and consent or provenance records may be processed locally or, when clearly disclosed, by an optional service provider. We do not use voice data for identity authentication, surveillance, or unrelated biometric identification unless a future feature expressly explains that use and obtains any legally required permission.
Automatically collected information
The website and optional diagnostics may generate limited technical data.
Hosting and security systems may process IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, timestamps, requested pages, and basic operational logs. If you choose to share diagnostics from the application, those diagnostics may include app version, macOS version, device characteristics, feature state, performance measurements, and error information. Diagnostic collection should exclude manuscript text, generated audio, and voice recordings unless you deliberately attach them or a specific disclosure says otherwise.
Cookies and analytics
The website uses only the tools configured for operation and measurement.
The website may use essential storage needed for security or form operation and may use a configured analytics provider to understand aggregate visits and feature engagement. Analytics configuration can change whether cookies or similar identifiers are used. The selected production provider, settings, and any consent mechanism must match this policy before launch. We do not place advertising cookies or build profiles for third-party behavioral advertising.
How we use information
We use information to operate, improve, secure, and support NarrativeForge.
Purposes may include providing requested features, managing beta access, responding to support, maintaining project or account functionality, detecting abuse, diagnosing failures, improving usability and reliability, communicating material product or policy changes, and complying with law. We do not use customer manuscripts, scripts, recordings, or custom voices to train unrelated models or unrelated systems.
Sale, advertising, and tracking
We do not sell personal information or run third-party behavioral advertising.
NarrativeForge does not sell personal information for money and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are commonly defined by United States privacy laws. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs in the application. If these practices ever change, this policy and the applicable controls will be updated before the new practice begins.
Service providers
A small number of vendors may process information on our behalf.
We may use providers for website hosting, email delivery, waitlist management, customer support, analytics, crash reporting, payments, file transfer, or optional cloud processing. They may access information only as needed to provide the contracted service and are expected to protect it. Provider identities and app-specific data flows will be reflected in product disclosures and App Store privacy information as the public release architecture is finalized.
Payments
Storefronts generally handle payment credentials.
When purchases are processed by Apple or another authorized storefront, that storefront processes payment-card details under its own policy. NarrativeForge may receive transaction identifiers, subscription status, product purchased, country or region, and related information needed to validate access, provide support, and maintain financial records.
Retention and deletion
We keep information only for a legitimate purpose and reasonable period.
Local project content remains under your control until you delete it, subject to device backups and operating-system behavior. Information held by Totalsquare, LLC is retained while needed to provide the service, maintain security, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, or support legitimate business records. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it where reasonably practicable. Backup copies may persist temporarily until routine rotation completes.
Security
We use safeguards appropriate to the information and the product stage.
Measures may include access controls, encrypted transport, credential protection, least-privilege practices, logging, software updates, vendor review, and incident-response procedures. No system can guarantee perfect security. You are responsible for protecting your Mac, account credentials, project exports, and authorized voice-source materials.
Your choices and rights
You may ask to access, correct, delete, or receive information we hold about you.
You may also unsubscribe from marketing messages, decline optional diagnostics, remove local projects using available application controls, or withdraw from a beta. Depending on where you live and which law applies, you may have additional rights to obtain a portable copy, restrict or object to processing, opt out of targeted advertising, sale, or certain profiling, or appeal a denied request. Because we do not currently sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising, there is no such activity to opt out of under our current practices.
Request verification and appeals
We may verify requests before acting on them.
To protect your information, we may ask for details reasonably necessary to verify identity, authority, account ownership, or the relevant interaction. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law, but we may require proof of authority. If we deny a request and applicable law provides an appeal right, reply to the decision with the subject line Privacy Appeal and explain why you believe the decision should be reconsidered.
Children
NarrativeForge is not directed to children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate permission, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where required. Education or team offerings for minors will require separate controls and disclosures before launch.
International use
Information may be processed in the United States and other provider locations.
If you use NarrativeForge from outside the United States, information submitted to Totalsquare, LLC or an optional provider may be transferred to and processed in countries with different privacy laws. Where required, we will use appropriate transfer mechanisms and additional disclosures.
Changes
Material policy changes will be posted before or when they take effect.
We may update this policy as the product, providers, or law changes. The updated date will appear at the top. If a change materially affects how previously collected information is used, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent when required.
